Dr. Asim Merchant, MD is a board-certified primary care physician with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine and more than a decade of experience treating musculoskeletal conditions using advanced, non-surgical therapies. He specializes in regenerative medicine treatments including stem cell therapy, performed with precise ultrasound guidance to improve accuracy and outcomes.
Dr. Merchant provides regenerative medicine treatments for patients in San Antonio, Texas and surrounding communities including Stone Oak, The Dominion, Alamo Heights, Boerne, New Braunfels, Schertz, Helotes, and Austin.
After completing his residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), Dr. Merchant pursued fellowship training in Sports Medicine at the University at Buffalo, where he served as a team physician for the Buffalo Bulls football program. Following fellowship, he moved to Gainesville, Florida, where he worked as a team physician for the Florida Gators football team, gaining extensive experience treating high-performance athletes and complex musculoskeletal injuries.
